FAQS
Are sealants only for children?
While sealants are most commonly recommended for kids right after their permanent molars come in, adults with deep grooves and no history of decay in those teeth can benefit too.
How long do sealants last?
With good oral hygiene, sealants typically last several years, though we'll check them at your regular visits and reapply if needed.
Does getting a sealant hurt?
Not at all. There's no drilling or numbing involved, just a quick application that hardens under a special light.
Do sealants replace the need for brushing and flossing?
No. Sealants add an extra layer of protection, but daily brushing and flossing are still essential for keeping the rest of your teeth healthy.

How does it work?
Your dentist cleans and dries the tooth, then applies a liquid resin into the grooves of the molars, which hardens quickly to form a smooth, protective barrier that keeps food and bacteria out.

What are dental sealants?
Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth to shield the deep grooves where cavities most often start.
