FAQS
Are tooth-colored fillings as strong as metal fillings?
Yes, modern composite materials are durable and well-suited for most cavities, including those on chewing surfaces. Your dentist will advise if a different material is better suited for very large restorations.
Will people be able to tell I have a filling?
No. Tooth-colored fillings are shade-matched to your natural teeth, so they blend in seamlessly and are virtually undetectable.
How long do composite fillings last?
With good oral hygiene, composite fillings typically last 7 to 10 years or longer, and we'll monitor them at your regular checkups.
Does getting a filling hurt?
The area is numbed beforehand, so the procedure itself is comfortable. Some mild sensitivity to temperature is normal for a few days afterward.

What are tooth-colored fillings?
Tooth-colored fillings, also called composite fillings, repair cavities using a durable resin material matched to your natural tooth shade, so the repair blends in seamlessly.
How does it work?
Your dentist removes the decayed portion of the tooth, then fills the space with a composite resin that's shaped and hardened with a curing light, bonding directly to the tooth for a strong, natural-looking result.
