What is a dental crown?
A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged, weakened, or heavily decayed tooth, restoring its strength, shape, and function.
How does it work?
Your dentist reshapes the tooth to make room for the crown, takes a digital scan, and designs a crown that fits precisely over it. Thanks to same-day CEREC® technology, many crowns can be milled and placed in a single visit.

FAQS
How long do crowns last?
With good care, crowns typically last 10 to 15 years, and many last much longer. Avoiding excessive grinding or using your teeth as tools helps extend their lifespan.
Do I need a crown, or would a filling work?
Crowns are generally recommended when a tooth has extensive decay, a large existing filling, or a crack, since fillings alone can't provide the same strength and support in these cases.
Will my crown look natural?
Yes. Crowns are custom-shaded and shaped to blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth, whether made from all-ceramic, porcelain, or other tooth-colored materials.
Can I get my crown in one visit?
In many cases, yes. Using our CEREC® same-day technology, we can design and mill your crown in-office, eliminating the need for a temporary crown and a second visit.
